Most People are of an idea that they belong to the age of technology. They are proud of their i-phones and laptops that reduced the burden of their minds and changed their life drastically. They assume this as an improvement but the other side of same technology is making you dumb is what most people miss to observe. Here are 5 ways we observed which show how technology makes us dumb.
Studies say using your smart gadgets in excess leads to inability to sleep due to light that emits from them. Sleeping less than required to a body causes different health related issues so it is better, at least 30 minutes before you hit the hay, hit the “off” button on your computer.
2. Can’t Remember Anymore
Once people used to remember entire books in their natural hard drive(brain) but after the plastic memory crept in we forgot to use our natural one. “I can’t remember my own phone number now”, is what some people claim. Tech is making us dependent and letting our brain to rest. Letting your brain unused for long will make it dull in long run.
3. You Forget Things
Technology associated with sleeplessness is making people to forget things like where they put their keys and you are so busy with your smart phones if I ask you what you had in your dinner last night, most of you will fail to answer, I can bet.
4. Kills Creativity
Starting from the very young age, our children don’t have to think anymore. No more creativity is needed. Now even school assignments are being copied from internet. The irony is that even the teachers and parents help children to do the whole assignment from the internet instead of encouraging them to think themselves. Yes, internet can be helpful but its use should be limited.
5. Internet Made Us Lazy And Dull
Before internet, information was a treasure that had a great value. Getting information was not easy. Information seekers had to move from library to library, search within the books. They used to interact with some learned people. This was a very time consuming task but the knowledge gained was no less than the treasure. They valued it so much that they tried to keep it in their memories. But today, we need to search google before we can answer even the simplest questions.I have seen people using internet to calculate simplest mathematical sums.
